It was a short week with Memorial day on Monday but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t action packed. Speaking in the state of New Hampshire on Saturday, former president Donald Trump told supporters “As your president, I will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency.” and pledged to support the right to self custody. He finished up by committing to keep “Elizabeth Warren and her goons away from your $BTC” and end “Biden's crusade to crush the industry”, making it clear he will stand up for the more than 50 million crypto holders in the United States.

On Monday the crypto community was surprised to see Caitlyn Jenner launch their own meme coin, now being labeled a “celeb token”, followed up by rapper Iggy Azalea on the same day, with both celebrities causing controversy around their intentions in the industry.

In general the crypto market has been flat this week ahead of U.S. inflation data which was just released this morning. The core rate of inflation over the past 12 months stayed at 2.8% for the third month in a row, which is almost a three-year low.

In our tracked coins this week there was little movement, except for XPR Network that made a standout 17.5% gain on the 7 day.

Voting closed last week for the Velodrome on Metal L2 proposal on Metal DAO with a unanimous “Yes” vote, blowing past the 3% quorum. Yesterday Marshall Hayner spoke with the Velodrome team on an X space about the partnership and future plans for Metal L2.
